1) Where is the College located?

SVPCET is set up on 20 acres off, NH 07 connecting Mumbai and Kolkata, the College is 18 km from the Railway station and 8 km from the airport. The campus provides ideal atmosphere for academic excellence, research and overall development. Being in the centre of India, Nagpur has easy connectivity with other part of the country by Air, Rail & Road.

2) What is the year of Establishment of your College?

The Institute was established in the year 2004 which is run by The Nagpur Pallottine Society and managed by Pallottine Fathers.

3) What is the timing of the college?

College timing is 9.00 am to 4.30 pm.

4) What is the type of Institute?

This is the Autonomous Self Financed (Un-Aided) / Private Technical Religious Minority (Christian) Institute in the region.

5) What is the approval / recognition status of the college?

It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE , New Delhi), recognized by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE , Mumbai ,Maharashtra State) , NAAC accredited A Grade and Accreditation of some programs by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) is in process while some are accredited.

6) To which University is it affiliated?

College is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University , Nagpur (RTMNU) and governed by the Rules & Regulations of the Maharashtra State & Government of India.

7) What system of education is followed at SVPCET?

Our College follows the semester pattern Choice based Credit System (CBCS) as per the guidelines of RTMNU. Students are required to maintain a minimum credits to get promoted to the next semester and qualify for a Degree.

8) Is Hostel/Residential facility available in College campus?

Yes, SVPCET offers comprehensive fully furnished hostel facilities for boys (Intake capacity - 450) and girls (Intake – 275) separately run by Fathers & Sisters within the College campus. Veg and Non veg mess are available.

9) Is there any transportation facility for day scholars?

Yes, we have bus service from all parts of the city. For detailed information on bus routes and bus fare visit the college website. Also we have accessibility to the Institute through Metro & Bus.

10) Are medical care facilities available on campus?

Yes, the campus provides primary emergency medical assistance.

11) Does college have a student medical policy?

Yes, college has group students’ medical insurance policy as per suggested/recommended by DTE, Maharashtra.

12) What kind of library facility is available?

Library is a vital need in an academic institution. We have a huge collection i.e. 29000 + books and 90+ Periodicals with complete access.

14) Do you pay special attention to weaker students?

Yes, we conduct Remedial Classes for academically weaker students and for students who have joined college late.

15) Do you pay special attention to counsel the students?

There are Class Counselors , Associate Class counselors & Mentors for every class who pay special attention and provide counseling to the students at every step. We also conduct counseling sessions by Certified Psychologists.

16) Any activities beyond academics?

It's our firm belief, to enhance the skills of our students, they must be provided with opportunities to explore their creativity.
Cultural programs are organized several times during the year to encourage creative pursuits and nurture talent. Students form teams and share responsibility in organizing the events.

The annual cultural extravaganza - has a unique flavor and style that makes it a much expected event in Campus. It's a confluence of ideas, a perfect blend of the arts, the skills and the passion to perform.
TECHNEX - The Technical Fest
This happens once a year and it's the perfect opportunity for all talented students from colleges and institutions to participate in the competitions and showcase their technical skills. It is ranked 9th in All India ranking in Tech fest 2016 survey.

All Indian festivals are celebrated on campus with enthusiasm and vigor, by students from the respective states.
Sports excellence
SVPCET has excellent sports and recreation facilities on campus, with dedicated facilities for Table tennis, basketball, badminton, yoga , cricket , football , volleyball , chess and even kabaddi.
Students participate regularly in Inter Collegiate, Inter University and State Level Tournaments and have won laurels.
Fitness Center
For students to stay fit and healthy, the boys hostel is equipped with gym and fitness center facilities. Gym and fitness center is open both in the morning and evening hours.

17) Are there any social initiatives by/for the students round the year?

Students are encouraged to take up community service through :-
National Service Scheme (NSS)
National cadet Corps (NCC)
or join any of the community service projects, to give back to the society through -
Pallotti Bread etc.
There are many opportunities for students to engage in social initiatives through health care camps,blood donation, advocacy campaigns (Tree plantation, Swachh bharat Abhiyaan etc.)

1) On what basis admission is given OR what is the Eligibility criterion for Admission?

SVPCET follows the guidelines established by DTE for eligibility to B.Tech course as given below:

Passed HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, EWS and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together;
Or
Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
Or
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a Recognised University as defined by UGC and obtained at least 45 % marks (at least 40 % marks, in case of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only);
And
Obtained non- zero score in MHT-CET conducted by the Competent Authority. (For Christian Minority)

2) What is the cut-off of last year for various branches?

3) What will be IIT-JEE / MHT-CET cut off so that I can get admission?

IIT-JEE / MHT-CET marks cut off varies every year and may go high as our Institute is most sought in Nagpur city. The College has topped the First Year Nagpur University results and many students have brought laurels to the Institution by securing top ranks in the University.

4) When does the admission start for PG and UG programs and how can one apply?

The admission process for UG programs commences after the declaration of XII Board & IIT-JEE / MHT-CET results , for PG programs after Final Year & GATE results are out. Admission Request form (ARF) is available in College Admission Guidance & Counseling Cell and on college website also. However candidate can contact in advance personally.

5) What documents are required along with the Application form for initial inquiry?

Only a photocopy class 10th mark-sheet , 12th result & Entrance tests print out is required to be submitted along with the Application Form

6) What are the fee payment options available after allotment?

For fee payment you may either avail net banking or make the payment at College Accounts Office along with DD.

7) I am an OMS student. In which Quota can I apply?

You can apply for Institute Level Quota provided the Eligibility criterion is fulfilled or seek admission through Cap round being cleared MHT-CET / IIT-JEE & completed all the formalities as laid down by State CET cell / Competent Authority.

8) What is the process of admission through Management Quota and through CAP rounds?

The institute has a Religious minority – Christian , having 51% minority seats , 29% CAP seats and 20 % institute level seats in CAP round I.
Also The non-allotted seats in CAP I out of 51% are open for all candidates in CAP II
Admission process for institute level seats is transparent and done by giving notification and advertisement in newspapers and on college website as per merit list.
CAP rounds are conducted by DTE. The fees is as per the directives of Fees Regulatory Authority.

9) What is the eligibility criterion for Minority admissions?

All candidates who have the following proofs are eligible for minority quota. i) CET Non-zero Score
ii) Baptism certificate
iii) Proforma – O/ Leaving Certificate with religion as Christian
iv) Domicile of Maharashtra state

Yes, as per the rules of Directorate of Technical Education and subject to condition of availability of seats. Final decision will be taken by College Management & Admission In charge.

Choose the program which suits your attitude , aptitude and passion. These all are hard-core Engineering disciplines and you can excel in any one of them!

2) Which branch to choose?

All branches are good. You need to work in a multidisciplinary manner in order to gain detailed technical knowledge. Application of knowledge is important. Students can make any branch good or bad.

3) What is the attendance requirement?

A minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear in the examinations. Attendance of a student is calculated from the date of commencement of the program.

4) What are the PG programs available in the institute?

We offer 2 PG programs (M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering (CAD-CAM) , Computer Engineering (CSE). GATE qualified / appeared candidates are  mostly preferred.

5) Does the institute offer a Doctoral program?

Yes. St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology , Nagpur is RTMNU Recognized Center for Higher Learning & Research (Ph.D Research Center) in the Department of Mechanical Engg & Computer Engineering. Admission process is laid down by RTMNU

6) What is the SVPCET scheme for higher education?

Teaching Assistantship is offered to Tech Pallottines, who continue their higher education in the institute having a good academic record.

7) Will I get a job-placement in the Industry through college assistance?

Our Institute has a centralized Training & Placement Cell that takes care of Job-placement. Eligible students get good offers from reputed Industries in India and Overseas. We are paying special attention on CRT – Campus Recruitment training which includes - aptitude test, Mock interviews, Resume writing, Group discussions and Personal interviews. As a part of Campus Placements Company visits are organized for conduction of online xamination, Group discussions, Personal interviews & HR interviews and finally selection for placement. Institute provides 100 % placement assistance by bringing companies to campus for conducting recruitment. Every year the number of companies coming for placement are increasing. Placement is to be guaranteed by the students by performing well in the aptitude test and interviews.

The college is introducing four new programs — BBA, BCA, MBA, and MCA — approved by the competent authorities and affiliated under the regulations of the Government of Maharashtra and the State Common Entrance Test Cell.
