SVPCET Organises Alumni Conclave 2026 on AI and Emerging Technologies
St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur—an autonomous institution—successfully organised its first Alumni Conclave 2026 on February 7, centred on the theme “Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Emerging Technologies: Opportunities, Challenges and Future Directions.” The conclave aimed to strengthen alumni engagement while providing students with practical perspectives on emerging technologies, industry expectations, and global career pathways.
The inaugural function saw the institute management - Fr. Siju, Financial Administrator, Dr. Wadhai, Principal and Dr. Maheshwary, Director QM&ID – elaborate the concept and motivation behind this Conclave. The Conclave aimed to underscore the role of alumni in mentoring students and bridging the gap between academia and industry. The event featured expert talks, a panel discussion, and interactive sessions focused on the evolving technological landscape.
The Power Talk was delivered by Ms. Joseline Varghese, a Computer Engineering graduate (2011 batch), associated with Infoccepts, India, working in the domain of enterprise systems and business intelligence. This was followed by a focus talk by Ms. Snehal Wairagade, an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering graduate (2017 batch), associated with NICE Software Solutions, engaged in data analytics and software consulting. Both speakers highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence, analytics, and digital systems across industries.
The panel discussion featured alumni from diverse engineering disciplines and graduating years, including Mr. Sumedh Dubey (Information Technology, 2024) from Microsoft; Ms. Shruti Thakare (Mechanical Engineering, 2023), pursuing management studies at IIM Nagpur; Mr. Saish Daware (Bachelor of Vocation, 2024) from MyTecSys, working in cybersecurity; Mr. Om Kathalkar (Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, 2023), engaged in advanced research at the National Technical University of Athens, Greece; Mr. Sushil Dhote (Information Technology, 2017) from Hitachi; and Mr. Hrishikesh Ambulkar (Electrical Engineering, 2022), involved in engineering consultancy and entrepreneurial initiatives.
The conclave also featured video messages from alumni working across the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, and Ireland. These messages highlighted global career opportunities, emerging technology trends, and the evolving skill requirements in international contexts. A special message was shared by an alumnus from the 2009 batch of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, working in AI-enabled learning design in the United Kingdom.
The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, followed by the felicitation of alumni participants. The Alumni Conclave marked the launch of a sustained alumni engagement platform at SVPCET, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to industry collaboration, mentorship, and global academic connectivity.
