NEP ORIENTATION & SENSITIZATION PROGRAM
St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur, in collaboration with the UGC–Malviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC), Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur, successfully organized a UGC-sponsored NEP Orientation and Sensitization Programme under the Malviya Mission Teacher Training Programme.
The programme was conducted in online mode from 16 January 2026 to 30 January 2026, spanning eight days, with sessions held daily from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. It was designed in accordance with the University Grants Commission guidelines to support the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme aimed to orient and sensitize higher education faculty members to the core principles and transformative reforms of NEP 2020. Key focus areas included multidisciplinary education, learner-centric pedagogy, technology integration in teaching, promotion of Indian knowledge systems and languages, vocational education, ethical values, and innovative assessment practices.
A total of 147 faculty members from university and college levels across various disciplines registered and participated. The programme was equivalent to a one-week short-term course and is valid for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) as per UGC norms.
The programme was organized under the leadership of Dr. Vijay Wadhai, Principal, SVPCET, with Dr. Smita Tolani, Head, Department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities, and Dr. Kirti Sahu, Assistant Professor, serving as Conveners. Academic guidance was provided by Dr. C. G. Dethe, Director, UGC-MMTTC, RTMNU, Nagpur, and Dr. Priti Dharmik, Course Coordinator, UGC-MMTTC NEP Programme.
The programme proved to be a valuable academic initiative, enhancing faculty awareness of NEP 2020 and strengthening teaching practices aligned with national educational reforms.
