BIM Training Programme for 7th semester students
The Department of Civil Engineering, SVPCET, Nagpur organized a BIM Training Programme in collaboration with EDSCA GLOBAL, Bengaluru, from 08th to 16th October 2025. The training was coordinated by Dr. Satish D. Kene and Prof. Rohit N. Bhosle, and conducted at Lab G-09, SVPCET, Nagpur. The objective of the program was to enhance students’ technical competency in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and to provide hands-on experience with globally recognized tools such as Revit Architecture, Navisworks, and Primavera.
EDSCA GLOBAL, Bengaluru, a reputed BIM and CAD training institute and an authorized partner of companies like Autodesk, PTC, and Bentley, served as the training partner. Since 2022, EDSCA GLOBAL has collaborated with SVPCET to empower Civil Engineering students with BIM-based skills vital for modern infrastructure design and management.
A total of 50 students from the 7th semester of the Civil Engineering Department participated in the programme. The training sessions were conducted by Ms. Rituparna Ojha, Mr. Sunil Kumar, and Mr. Vishwas K, all from EDSCA GLOBAL, Bengaluru. The program was organized daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., featuring hands-on sessions, practical demonstrations, and project-based learning.
The training covered essential modules, including Revit Architecture-Building modelling, visualization, and documentation, Navisworks-Project coordination, clash detection, and integration of multiple design disciplines and Primavera-Project planning, scheduling, and resource management techniques
The program successfully enhanced students’ technical proficiency and understanding of collaborative project workflows. It strengthened their employability, improved digital construction awareness, and boosted confidence in managing data-driven engineering projects. The initiative effectively bridged the gap between academic learning and industrial practices, aligning with the department’s vision of producing industry-ready civil engineers.
