Workshop on Power BI
The Power BI Workshop, organized in Computer Engineering Department in association with CE–ACM Student Chapter on 22nd October 2024, was designed to provide participants with practical exposure to data visualization and analysis. The objective of the workshop was to introduce students to Power BI software, covering aspects such as installation, data integration, visualization, and professional report generation. The session focused on building essential skills in working with data, enabling students to develop logical insights and create meaningful presentations. The event was coordinated by Prof. Kavita Meshram and Dr. Pallavi Wankhede, along with student coordinators Nevin Oommen, Ayush Kshirsagar, Paritosh Magare, Manasvi Giradkar, Mayur Aglawe, and Gargi Gundawar, targeting 2nd and 3rd year CE students.
The workshop commenced with an inauguration led by Nevin Oommen (ACM Vice-President), who highlighted the importance of Power BI in the modern data-driven world. Paritosh Magare guided the installation process, followed by Ayush Kshirsagar, who explained data scraping and integration. The interactive approach kept participants engaged, with volunteers actively resolving queries. Manasvi Giradkar conducted discussions that encouraged communication, while Ayush further demonstrated techniques for generating professional reports. Later, Paritosh explained profile report generation, and Manasvi showcased the advanced functions of Power BI.
The event concluded with participants gaining hands-on experience in data visualization, report creation, and analysis techniques. The workshop not only fulfilled its objective of providing technical knowledge but also boosted students’ confidence in working with real-world datasets. Overall, it was a highly successful initiative by the CE–ACM Student Chapter, enriching students with practical skills relevant to the growing field of data analytics.
