Flutter Workshop

The Flutter Workshop, organized by the Department of Computer Engineering in collaboration with the ACM CE Student Chapter, was conducted on 7th April 2024 at the 3rd floor Block B Auditorium. The session was led by Mr. Parth Upadhye (3rd Year, Section B) and aimed at providing students with hands-on exposure to cross-platform mobile app development using Flutter, a popular framework by Google. The objectives of the workshop were to disseminate knowledge in Android and iOS development and to make students aware of the latest mobile app development technologies. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pallavi Wankhede and Prof. Priti Bhagat, along with student coordinators Nakul Armarkar, Elasha Deoghare, and Rudraksha Asati, ensuring smooth execution.

The workshop began with an introduction to Flutter setup and Dart programming basics, followed by demonstrations of UI design, navigation techniques, and state management. The resource person, Mr. Parth, explained each concept with practical examples, encouraging students to develop apps in real-time. The interactive style of teaching kept participants engaged, while coordinators and volunteers provided constant support to address queries. A total of 95 students from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year from all soft branches actively participated, reflecting a high level of interest.

By the end of the session, students gained valuable technical skills in mobile app development, along with a deeper understanding of Flutter’s cross-platform capabilities. The initiative not only met its objectives but also inspired students to explore mobile app development as a career path. Overall, the workshop proved to be a successful and enriching experience, greatly benefiting the participants.
