Swagatam 2025 – A Warm Welcome to Freshers at SVPCET

St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur, organized its Swagatam 2025 program on September 13, 2025, at the Multi Facility Center to welcome the new batch of B.Tech and B.Voc students along with their parents. The event was hosted by the Department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities.

The program began with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp, symbolizing knowledge and new beginnings. Dr. Fr. Paul Chandrakunnel, Director, SVPCET, extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering. Principal Dr. Vijay Wadhai addressed students and parents, sharing the institution’s vision and aspirations for the academic year.

Dr. Smita Tolani, Head of the Department of Engineering Sciences & Humanities, set the tone with an inspiring introduction, while Prof. Swati Mirlekar, Academic Coordinator (B.Voc), presented highlights of departmental initiatives.

A series of presentations provided students and parents with a comprehensive overview of academic opportunities, campus culture, and institutional strengths. Prof. R. B. Gowardhan, Institute Mentor, spoke about avenues for academic growth and personal development. Dr. Prashant Maheshwary, Director – QM & ID, highlighted training, skilling, and placement initiatives, designed to equip students for success in competitive industrial sectors. Videos on the Clean & Green Campus, student clubs, extracurricular activities, and the Training & Placement Cell showcased SVPCET’s vibrant campus life and commitment to holistic education.

Adding a personal touch, senior students and parents shared their experiences, offering the newcomers valuable insights and encouragement. The event also celebrated academic excellence, honoring achievers of the 2024-25 academic year. Special recognition was given to outstanding performers in AI and Communication Bootcamps.

The Swagatam 2025 program witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 1000 students and 319 parents. It created an atmosphere of excitement, motivation, and belonging, setting a positive tone for the academic year ahead.


Swagatam at SVPCET is more than a welcome — it is a celebration of fresh beginnings, academic aspirations, and the promise of holistic growth.
