The Department of Civil Engineering organized the Re-installation Ceremony of the Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) Students’ Chapter and STHĀPATYA – Association of Civil Engineering Students, Students’ Executive Body on 21 August 2025. The program was graced by Dr. Swapneel Satone, Chairman (Elect), ICI Nagpur Centre; Er. Bhagwat Patil, Secretary, ICI Nagpur Centre; Principal; Head of Department; faculty members; and students, marking a significant occasion in fostering leadership, professionalism, and technical excellence.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and a welcome address by              Dr. Abhay G. Hirekhan, Head of Civil Engineering Department, who highlighted the role of student organizations in bridging academic knowledge with industry exposure. The re-installed executive members of ICI Students’ Chapter and STHĀPATYA were formally introduced and congratulated for their commitment to contribute towards academic, technical, and extracurricular growth.

A technical session on “From Materials to Methods: A Comprehensive Approach to Durable & Eco-Friendly Concrete” was then delivered by Dr. Swapneel Satone. The session covered modern construction materials, durability aspects, sustainability measures, and practical challenges, thereby enriching the audience with insights into innovative concrete applications. It motivated students to enhance their technical skills and stay updated with industry trends.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Megha Bawanthade, Students’ President, who acknowledged the guidance of faculty advisors, the active participation of students, and the constant support of ICI Nagpur Centre. Prof. Yogesh S. Lanjewar, Faculty Coordinator of the Students’ Executive Body, successfully coordinated the event.
