Faculty Visit to Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur
The Department of Computer Engineering organized a faculty visit to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Nagpur on 20th August 2025 from 11:15 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The visit was undertaken by Dr. Pallavi Wankhede and Dr. R. C. Roychaudhary, who were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bala Subrahmanyam, Scientist and In-charge, RMC.
During the visit, the faculty members gained valuable insights into the working processes of the centre, including its role in weather monitoring, forecasting, and data analysis using advanced meteorological instruments. The interaction also provided an overview of the interdisciplinary applications of computer engineering in the domain of meteorology.
The objectives of the visit were threefold:
- To explore possibilities of signing an MoU between the Computer Engineering Department and RMC, Nagpur.
- To facilitate industrial visits, internships, and skill development programs for students.
- To strengthen collaboration between the department and RMC for joint research and innovation initiatives.
This visit marked a significant step towards building strong industry–institute collaboration. The discussions opened avenues for academic enrichment, research opportunities, and enhanced student exposure to real-world applications, aligning with the department’s vision of providing holistic and practical learning experiences.
