Industrial Visit to Sanghvi Industries, Butibori Nagpur
The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a visit to Sanghvi Industries, Butibori, Nagpur on 19th July 2025 (Saturday) for the 3rd Semester and 5th Semester students. The visit was intended to explore the fabrication process of cement manufacturing plant components like screw conveyors, pollution control systems in the cement plant, bag and gas filters. The visit provided a total of 39 students and three faculty members with an exposure leading to an enriching and invaluable experience.
Sanghvi Industries offers a complete solution and is in the business of manufacturing & servicing cement manufacturing plant systems and assemblies. They have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at MIDC, Butibori, Nagpur.
The visit to the industry was carried out under the guidance of Mr. Manish Sanghvi, proprietor, who explained the different processes and machines involved in the fabrication of cement manufacturing plant components and systems. He also enlightened students about the prospects in mechanical engineering.
Students were able to see the working of 25ft, 20ft, 10ft, 6ft lathe machines, pillar drilling machine, shaper machine, milling machine, and various types of welding machines. The visit was coordinated by Prof. Anthony Augustine, Prof. P. R. Bhagat, Prof. R. N. Chakraborty, Dr. P. S. Nerkar, Prof. Sandhya M. Umare.
Mr. Manish Sanghvi also had an informative interaction with Prof. P. R. Bhagat, Prof. R. N. Chakraborty, Dr. P. S. Nerkar, Prof. Sandhya M. Umare about the work being carried out at their other plant at Ahmedabad, Mumbai and the technology they are working on, and also their views on what knowledge and skills students need to acquire.
