SVPCET’s IEDC Shines at MSME Idea Hackathon 4.0

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Cell (IEDC) at St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET) has once again demonstrated its excellence in nurturing young innovators. In a proud moment for the institute, two student-led projects have been selected and fully funded under the prestigious MSME Idea Hackathon 4.0 (Young Innovators), an initiative by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

This achievement is a testament to the consistent efforts of the IEDC team in guiding students to convert their creative ideas into viable solutions with societal impact.

Project Highlights:

  1. Water Level Indicator using IoT for Waterlogged Roads
  • Students: Pratik Tiwari (7th ETC), Dhanshree Nagpure (7th ETC), Atharva Kadu (7th IIOT)
  • Faculty Mentors: Prof. Rohan Vaidya, Dr. Homeshwar Nagpure
  • Sanctioned Grant: ₹5.30 Lakh

This project aims to address urban flooding by using IoT technology to provide real-time alerts on road waterlogging, enhancing road safety during monsoons.

  1. Portable ECG Machine with AI-based Image Diagnostic Algorithm
  • Student: Bhavesh Mahajan (CSE-DS, Batch of 2025)
  • Faculty Mentors: Dr. Deepali Borakhade, Prof. Rohan Vaidya, Dr. Homeshwar Nagpure
  • Sanctioned Grant: ₹10.50 Lakh

This innovation proposes a compact ECG device integrated with AI to enable early and accessible heart diagnostics, especially in underserved regions.

The 100% funding support extended by the Government of India underscores the relevance and potential of these projects. It also reflects the vibrant innovation ecosystem fostered by IEDC at SVPCET, which continuously motivates students to tackle real-world problems through technology and creativity.
