11th International Day of Yoga Celebrated
The NSS Unit of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET) celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga on Saturday, 21st June 2025, with great enthusiasm and active participation from both teaching and non-teaching staff.
As part of the celebration, a one-hour Yoga session was organized from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM for teaching, and non-teaching staff members in the college premises. The session was conducted under the guidelines of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India.
The event began with warm-up exercises and light jogging, followed by a structured yoga session that included prayers and systematic practice of various 'Asanas' in standing, sitting, and lying positions. The participants were informed about the preventive and therapeutic benefits of yoga, emphasizing its role in maintaining physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
Prof. Yogesh Lanjewar, NSS Faculty Coordinator from the Civil Engineering Department, coordinated the program. He highlighted the importance of yoga and the significance of International Yoga Day, especially in the Indian context. Dr. Ashlesha Nagpure, NSS Program Officer, also guided and supported the event.
The program concluded with a collective resolution to incorporate yoga into daily life for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
