The Department of Artificial Intelligence, SVPCET, Nagpur, organized an expert session on “The Art of Research Paper Writing” on 3rd April 2025 for third-year students of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cyber Security (CS), Data Science (DS), and Mechanical Engineering. The session was led by Dr. Minhaj Ahmed Rehman, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Coordinator of the R&D Cell, and Dr. Kapil Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Engineering. Both experts shared their extensive knowledge in research and publication.

The session covered the essential components of a research paper, including the title, abstract, introduction, literature survey, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion. Dr. Rehman and Dr. Gupta also explained the differences between research papers and conference papers, highlighting their structure and purpose. They introduced AI-based tools like Scispace, Research Rabbit, and Elicit to aid in literature surveys and demonstrated how to find credible sources using academic databases. The session also provided insights into tools for writing, referencing, plagiarism detection, and paper formatting.

The session was attended by 155 third-year students preparing for mini-projects and future research endeavors. The session successfully motivated students to delve into academic research and laid a solid foundation for their future contributions.

Students actively engaged with the experts, asking insightful questions that were expertly addressed. The session was coordinated by Prof. Pooja Wagh, Faculty Coordinator, and Prof. Pinky Gangwani, Co-Curricular Activity Coordinator of the AI department.
