Industrial Exposure Visit to BHEL and AMTZ by Electrical Engineering Students

The Department of Electrical Engineering, St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur, organized an educational industrial tour to Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, from 12th to 16th October 2026, for students of the V and VII semesters. The tour aimed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial applications by providing students with valuable exposure to industrial processes, engineering systems, and modern manufacturing practices.

As part of the industrial tour, the students visited Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) on 13th October 2026 and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on 15th October 2026.

The visit to BHEL helped students relate their theoretical knowledge to practical industrial applications and appreciate the importance of engineering design, equipment operation, and industrial practices. The proposed areas of technical exposure included pressure vessels and columns, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, air fin coolers, and fired heaters.

The visit to AMTZ introduced students to the industrial and technological ecosystem supporting drone technology and specialized medical technology like Bharat Limbs. The focus areas included industrial power systems, electrical safety standards, specialized manufacturing, medical instrumentation, and facility management. The visit highlighted the relevance of electrical engineering in healthcare technology and modern industrial infrastructure.

The department expresses its sincere gratitude to the management and teams of BHEL and AMTZ for permitting the visits and supporting the department's efforts to promote industry–academia interaction. A total of 65 students participated in the industrial tour to Visakhapatnam, accompanied by Dr. Mrs. J. P. Rothe, Mrs. Shradha Banode, Dr. Dushyant Khadse, and Mr. Sanjay Waghmare from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
