The Department of Engineering, Sciences & Humanities, in association with the Ataavi College Chapter, organized a Campus Bird Walk on 7th August 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in and around the college campus. The activity was coordinated by Ms. Mamta Chhabriya, with Dr. Manish Jachak, Mrs. Namrata Gore, Dr. Shakuntala Yadav, Ms. Vrushali Pethe, and Ms. Ganga Pal accompanying the students. The activity aimed to introduce students to bird watching and local biodiversity while promoting nature-based learning, environmental awareness, and responsible engagement with the natural surroundings.

The guided walk was led by Naturalist Nayanika Bhatia, who introduced students to bird identification, bird behaviour, habitats, bird calls, and the importance of conserving urban biodiversity. Students observed and identified several species, including Shikra, Bulbul, Myna, Swifts, Spotted Dove, Laughing Dove, and the Asian Paradise Flycatcher.

The activity provided students with an opportunity to develop observation skills, appreciate local ecosystems, and understand the importance of biodiversity in maintaining a healthy environment. It also encouraged teamwork, responsible participation, and greater awareness of sustainable practices.

The Bird Walk successfully promoted experiential learning and strengthened students’ connection with nature, highlighting the importance of protecting and appreciating biodiversity within urban and educational spaces.
