Alumni Session Report - Kickstarting Your Tech Career - from classroom to Industry Impact

The Department of Vocation (B.Voc.) organized an Alumni Expert Session on 18th July 2026 for 70 second-year students of Software Development (SD) and Cyber Security (CS). The session, titled "Kickstarting Your Tech Career - from classroom to Industry Impact," was delivered by Ms. Khushi Raykundaliya, an alumna of the 2025 B.VOC Software Development batch and currently a Junior UI/UX Developer and QA at Arista Systems.

The session focused on guiding students in preparing for successful careers in the technology industry. Ms. Khushi shared her transition from college to the corporate world and highlighted the importance of consistency, continuous learning, and practical experience. She encouraged students to actively participate in projects, hackathons, technical events, and collaborative activities to strengthen their technical and professional skills.

She discussed the latest industry trends, including Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Software Development, while emphasizing the need to stay updated with emerging technologies. The speaker also explained the importance of mastering programming fundamentals, aptitude, communication skills, teamwork, and maintaining professional platforms such as GitHub and LinkedIn to enhance employability.

A year-wise roadmap for career preparation was presented, providing students with practical guidance on skill development throughout their academic journey. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students actively discussed placement preparation, higher education opportunities, career growth, and industry expectations.

The session was highly informative and motivating, providing valuable insights into industry requirements and inspiring students to develop industry-ready skills, embrace lifelong learning, and confidently prepare for their future careers. The session was coordinated by Ms. Isha Suri, Department of Vocation (B.VOC.), in collaboration with the Alumni and Relations Cell.
