Induction Program for Second-Year B.Tech. Civil Engineering Students (Academic Year 2026–27)

The Department of Civil Engineering, St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology, Nagpur, organized an Induction Program for newly admitted Second-Year B.Tech. Civil Engineering students on 07/07/2026 for the Academic Year 2026–27. The program aimed to familiarize students with the department, faculty, laboratories, academic regulations, and opportunities for their academic and professional growth.

The program began with a welcome address introducing the department’s vision and mission. Students were introduced to the faculty members, who explained their areas of expertise and the subjects they would teach, fostering a supportive learning environment. It was also announced that Prof. Yashshree Dhale would serve as the Class Counsellor, guiding students in academics, attendance, career planning, and personal development.

Prof. Harshita Lal conducted an orientation on the department’s laboratories, including the Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Concrete, and Workshop laboratories. Students learned about laboratory facilities, major equipment, safety practices, discipline, and the importance of practical learning in strengthening engineering concepts.

The keynote address was delivered by Head of the Department, Dr. Abhay Hirekhan, who welcomed the students and highlighted the department’s academic excellence, research initiatives, laboratory infrastructure, and industry collaborations. He explained the curriculum, attendance requirements, examination system, and institute regulations, while encouraging students to participate actively in workshops, seminars, industrial visits, technical competitions, sports, cultural events, and professional activities for holistic development.

The program concluded with an interactive session where students clarified their queries regarding academics, laboratories, internships, placements, and career opportunities. Overall, the induction program successfully acquainted students with the department and motivated them to begin the academic year with confidence, enthusiasm, and a commitment to academic excellence.
