Value education visit at Sanjeevan Socio Medical Foundation for ME & EE

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering jointly organized an educational visit for students under the Value Education course to Sanjeevan Socio Medical Foundation, Amgaon Deoli. A total of 57 students from Electrical Engineering (2nd year) and 37 students from Mechanical Engineering (2nd year) participated in the visit on 21 April from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The visit aimed at experiential learning and self-exploration to initiate positive transformation in students. It enabled students to develop awareness of self and their surroundings and understand their interdependence, recognize the importance of relationships and universal values for harmonious living, and appreciate the role of eco-friendly systems and nature conservation in institutions.

Dr. Nandoskar and his team guided the students through the naturopathy centre and the entire campus. Students were introduced to sustainable living practices, including biogas plants, solar energy systems, and a wind energy turbine.

Students also participated in shramdaan, gaining an understanding of the dignity of labour and collective responsibility. They interacted with an elderly resident of the old age home, which helped them appreciate the value of relationships based on mutual sharing, respect, and emotional connection beyond material provisions.

The visit effectively enabled students to connect theoretical concepts with real-life practices related to health, sustainability, coexistence with nature, and social responsibility. The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Mamta Chhabriya, Prof. N. Mendhe, and Prof. V. Sontakke.
