Hands-on Intel OpenVINO AI Workshop 2026

St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology organized a hands-on Intel OpenVINO AI Workshop on 28 March 2026, aimed at fostering innovation, practical learning, and technical collaboration among students.

The workshop saw active participation from 65 students and was graced by Nitin Mane and Mr. Kirtiraj Garud, IEEE Region 10 Representative – AI Global Coordination Committee. The experts delivered engaging lectures on the OpenVINO AI Toolkit, model optimization techniques, and real-world AI applications, providing students with practical insights into deploying AI models on Intel hardware.

A key highlight of the event was the official installation of the IEEE SVPCET Student Chapter, strengthening the student technical community and encouraging innovation. The program commenced with an inaugural session, ceremonial lamp lighting, felicitation of guests, badge distribution to office bearers, and an inspiring address by Fr. Dr. Paul Chandrankunnel, Director, SVPCET.

Hands-on sessions covered: OpenVINO Toolkit basics, model optimization, practical workflows for developers, running AI models on Intel hardware, and real-time exercises. The workshop was beginner-friendly yet practical, enabling students to learn, build, and optimize AI solutions effectively. All participants received Intel-verified certificates, adding value to their technical credentials.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Janhavi Charde, Chair of the IEEE Student Chapter, acknowledging the contributions of the guests, faculty coordinators Prof. Shradha Agrawal Banode and Prof. Shabana Pathan, Fr. Stanley Wilson, and all participants for making the event a success.
