NSS Educational Visit to MGIRI, Wardha and Bapu Kuti, Sevagram

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology (SVPCET), Nagpur organized an educational visit to Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI), Wardha, and Bapu Kuti, Sevagram on 2nd February 2026. The visit aimed to familiarize students with Gandhian values, rural development initiatives, self-reliant industries, and sustainable living practices, fostering social responsibility and ethical awareness.

During the visit to MGIRI, students were introduced to rural industries, eco-friendly technologies, and self-employment models inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj. Experts highlighted the role of innovation and skill development in strengthening rural economies, emphasizing employment generation, self-sufficiency, and sustainable production practices. At Bapu Kuti, Sevagram, students observed Gandhiji’s simple lifestyle and personal belongings, gaining insight into his principles of non-violence, discipline, cleanliness, and service to humanity.

NSS volunteers actively participated by maintaining discipline, engaging with guides, observing real-life examples, and reflecting on social responsibilities and moral values.

The visit resulted in enhanced understanding of rural development and sustainability, increased awareness of Gandhian philosophy, and motivation to contribute to nation-building and community service. It also fostered empathy, leadership, and a sense of responsibility among students.

Overall, the NSS educational visit to MGIRI and Bapu Kuti proved highly educational and inspiring.
