Workshop on Concrete Mix Design
Department of Civil Engineering and Adani Cement Group, Nagpur in association with Indian Concrete Institute Students Chapter Organizes, A Hand on Workshop on Concrete Mix Design on 21/02/ 2026 from 10.0 am to 4.00 pm for Third-year Civil Engineering Students to enhance the practical and theoretical understanding of concrete proportioning among civil engineering students. The program aimed to familiarize participants with the importance of mix design in achieving desired strength, durability, and workability while ensuring economy and sustainability.
The workshop covered fundamental concepts such as properties of cement, aggregates, and water, along with the influence of admixtures on concrete performance. Standard procedures for mix design, including target mean strength, water–cement ratio, and trial mixes, were explained in a systematic manner. Practical examples and numerical illustrations helped students understand real-world applications and common challenges faced at construction sites.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and clarified doubts related to mix adjustments and quality control. The workshop proved to be highly informative and beneficial, bridging the gap between theory and practice. Overall, the session enhanced students’ technical competence and prepared them for professional responsibilities in concrete technology. Total 54 students actively participated in this one day workshop.
Er. Mohammed Waheed and Er. Kundan Singh from Adani Cement group, Nagpur explain the mix design process. Prof. Yogesh S. Lanjewar and Dr.Satish D.Kene coordinated this one day workshop.
