The Department of Mechanical Engineering, under the B.Tech. Project-I course organized an expert lecture on 28 January 2026 from 2:15 pm to 4:15 pm in Room No. S-20, Mechanical Engineering Department.

A total of 56 students of the 4th semester and 58 students of the 6th semester attended the lecture. The primary objective of the session was to guide students on how to carry out a literature survey from various online sources/databases and to create awareness about the literature survey facilities available in the college's central library.

Dr. Minhaj A. Rehman, Associate  Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, SVPCET Nagpur, was the resource person for the lecture. He delivered an in-depth and insightful talk covering:

• Steps involved in writing a literature survey and review
• Identification of free and open-access journals and databases.
• Importance of importance of effective literature survey in the execution of a project and research.
• Different stages of survey and literature review
• Structure and organization of a literature review.
• How to access the online literature survey facilities available in the college's central library.

The session was coordinated by Dr. V. C. Sontake, Project Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering Department.

The lecture successfully motivated students to do an effective literature survey and review based on their major project work. Students gained clarity on various online literature databases and how to access them.
