The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a two day workshop on ‘Robotic Applications for Manufacturing’, on 24th and 25th November, 2017, in collaboration with Oberoi Center of Excellence, RTMNU, Nagpur.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Rohit Tupkari, Manager (Grind Master Pvt. Ltd., Aurangabad) and keynote speaker of the workshop. Mr. Tupkari explained the recent development of Industrial Robotics and its scope. Dr. D. J. Tidke, an eminent academician of Central India discussed recent developments in the area of its manufacturing. Dr. Sheetal Chiddarwar, Assistant Professor of VNIT, threw light on the technological advancements in the domain of research work on Robotics. The last session of the day was lead by Mr. Amol Pusadkar, Manager, Engine Assembly Dept, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nagpur, wherein he discussed few case studies on low cost automation in the industry by adopting Robotic application.
Day 2 of the workshop was a hands on training at the Post Graduate Department in Industrial Robotics, Oberoi Center of Excellence, RTMNU, Nagpur. Here, participants were exposed to real coding of robotics, its simulation software and execution of few real time operations on robots under the guidance of Prof. Nima Ukhani and her team. The robotic operations involved pick & place and spot welding. Total participants were 39 in number from 17 colleges of the region and 4 industries.
