About Mechanical Engineering
The evergreen branch from the day the stone age man chiseled his fist tool, the fold of mechanical engineering has come a long way. Today apart from the core areas like the automobile industry, mining, aerospace engineering and material sciences, a mechanical engineer finds his utility areas such as the IT industry and the banking sectors. Mechanical engineering is based on the various principles of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and energy. Mechanical engineers use the core principles and knowledge in the field to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, motor vehicles, aircraft, robots and more. Thus, the scope for a mechanical engineer in any part of the world is unlimited.

By A.D. Pachchhao, HOD In present times, the greatest expectation from India is that it can become a superpower by 2020. And being a superpower is not a cakewalk, but a difficult task. Since mechanical engineering is one of the core branches in the world of engineering, a large number of engineering students across India apply for the same. But do these future engineers strive to make our nation better? Unfortunately, not many possess this attitude.Keeping this in mind, the department of mechanical engineering of SVPCET tries to create an environment of discipline, hardwork, teamwork, and even industry exposure for our junior engineers. We, at the department level strive hard to develop a sense of belonging and duty towards the nation. Our ever dedicated faculty work hard to make bright technocrats, so that they are technically and professionally sound. Many research oriented events are organized at department level which help students in acquiring practical knowledge, technical and managerial skills and a true engineering attitude. We hope that Tech Pallottines may shine in the engineering platform and make themselves useful to the society."Let there be few words and many deeds..."All the best!
