Tech Pallottines shine out at ‘Yuvarang’ 2k19

The students of our College actively showcased their talents, winning laurels for the college in ‘YUVARANG’ 2k19, organized by RTMNU from 21st– 24th February 2019, at Guru Nanak Bhavan, Ambazari Road, Nagpur.

Out of the competitions held, Ms. Unnati Ambulkar stood 3rd in Poster Making, Shreya Sorte stood 1st in Mehendi, Sajal Shrivastav stood 3rd in Light Vocal and Aditya Meshram stood 1st in Spot Collage Making, 2nd in Clay Modeling and also bagged the ‘Mr. Fine Arts’ Trophy.

Overall, the college stood 4th among 113 colleges participating at ‘YUVARANG’ 2k19. The winners were congratulated for their achievement by Fr. Paul Chandrakunnel (Director), Dr Surendra Gole (Principal), Prof. R. B. Govardhan (Vice-Principal), staff and students.

Elocution Competition Report

The Holistic Development Cell hosted ‘SPEAK IT UP’,  an elocution competition , as part of the language club activity Communique on 16th March 2018 , at 1:00 pm in BLOCK B Room -BT-07. The students were given 3  topics related to latest trends out of which they  had to choose one and explain it within the given time limit in first round. All the participants  performances illuminated everyone. In second round, participants answered to judges questions related to the topics they had chosen. The winner of the event Prasanna Kaskhedikar was felicitated by the judges with prize.The event was  co-ordinated by Faculty Incharge  Prof.Neha Singh and Prof. Shruti  Ramchandran along with Student co-ordinators Ruth Paul and Chinmayee Kukde .

Understanding our Time

In St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering Technology, Student-Guest Interaction Session on “Understanding our Time” by Dashinayan was organized. The interaction session was held in front of Block B on 30thJanuary 2018 at 12:00 noon. The student of 2nd year of all the Departments were invited to be the part of most Informative session.

The hosts Payal Warhadeand Aishwarya Wanjari grabbed the attention of the students and introduced and welcomed the Guests Mr. Prasanna utagi, Mrs. Megha Pansare, Mrs. Jayashri utagi, Mr. Bhalchandra Kango, Mr. Cleofato ameida coutinho, Mr. Mandar kale.

The Guest gave a brief Introduction on Dakshinayan Abhiyan, which is a movement launched by Padma Shri Ganesh Devy, a scholar, linguist, and an activist. Dakshinayan is a movement of respecting constitution and to bring Justice and Equality.

Under dakshinayan, samas 2018 was organized on 29th & 30th January in which Indian writers, news journalist, actors, producers and social workers with 2000 peoples associated with Dakshinayan Abhiyan, gatheredfrom various places across country.

They had also mentioned that The Dakshinayan team addressed 20 colleges of Nagpur and St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering and Technology was one of them.  They addressed students on various topics like understanding their precious time and guided them about the rights of journalist and mentioned about the Indian Politics. They also answered the various and interesting questions from the students side.

Article writing Competition

The article writing competition was organized by the language club of Holistic Development Cell on 11th January 2018. The aim was to apprise the students with the elements of writing skills. Thus, with help of this activity the students were given an opportunity to display their proficiency as a keen observer and writer. The competition was conducted in library,where topics were given on spot and 20 min time to write an article of not more than 200 words, on innovative practice. In total, 15 articles were received from students, which covered topics “What if Artificial intelligence developed consciousness” and “Death and Rebirth”. The articles were reviewed by the faculty members associated with the club.

Prof. Neha Singh and Prof. Shruti Ramachandran coordinated the activity with student coordinators Aishwarya Wanjari, Sijit Joseph and Shreyash Manegaonkar.

Poster competition organized by Science and Technology Club- SWAT

The SWAT : Students Working for Advanced Technology  club under Holistic Development Cell of college had organized the poster competition. The competition was held on 16th December between 11.00 AM to 01:00 PM. The topics for the event was

1)Digital  India

2)Advancements in Defence technologies

3)New age of Transport

4)Green Technology .

There was total 14 number of participants and the participants were present with their great arts.

Dr. Amit Bhende and Prof. Abhranil Banerjee were the Judges for the Contest. They evaluated the Posters & Declared Aishwarya Ukey (ETC  2nd  year) as the winner and topic of her poster was Digital India. The student coordinators of the SWAT club Sagar Dhole (Mechanical department 3rd year) and Payal Warhade (ETC department 2nd year) conducted the event along with the team members.

The Holistic Development Cell promoted ‘Multi-Talent’ hunt audition organized by NAGPUR UNDERGROUND MULTI-TALENTED BASH (NUMB), for students of our College on 23rd September, 2017. Here, students could showcase their talent through solo, duet singing, dancing, stand-up comedy, etc, all were given a platform to exhibit their hidden talents.

The auditions witnessed a participation count of 20 students. In level 1, participants had a minute to win it i.e they were given 1 minute to present their talent/s. NUMB facilitators would be putting up videos of all performances on youtube.  The spirit of competition and sportsmanship was clearly visible in the eyes of students. Faculty co-ordinators of HDC put in their best along with student co-ordinators Tanuja Varghese, Anish Babu, Sujit Joseph, Yashodhan Namjoshi, Sanket Annadate, Abhiraj Tiwari and Khushal Mudliyar.


Workshop on Installation of LED strips

The SWAT CLUB had organized a workshop on “Installation of LED strips“ for members on 22nd September,2017. The workshop was scheduled between 1:00pm to 2:00pm in Electronic workshop (BS-18) of ETC    Department.

The workshop was conducted by Divyank Ingole (Electrical engineering 3rd year). He explained about terminating, soldering ,drivers during workshop and thereafter, all the members performed practically. Payal  Warhade , Sagar Dhole, Jitendra Mourya and Pralay Yesankar  coordinated the workshop.

The main objective of workshop was to get familiar with LED strips and perform installation of LED strips, its application.

The workshop was useful, enabling students to understand terminating and making different designs and letters using LED strips.

Cultural Club of HDC organises ‘Groove’

The Holistic Development Cell hosted ‘Groove’, a dance event, as part of the cultural club activity on 16th September, at 12 noon between academic Block-A and B. Celebrating Onam, students turned up for the event dressed in traditional attire.

Pranay Burande took the lead with his amazing dance performance. Next Kunal  Shroff  danced to the beat of 90s, followed by Sakshi Kankar and Akshay Dhanvijay, who, with their dance performances kept the crowd well entertained.  At the end final year students took over the stage, dancing to the tune of different songs.

The event was hosted by Sujit Joseph. Student co-ordinators Anish Babu and Tanuja Varghese helped in organizing the event.

Launching of ‘Communique’ -Language Club

‘Communique’ (Language club), was launched under the Holistic Development cell,   from 1pm to 2pm in the college premises on 3rd Sept, 2017, with the objective of promoting the importance of soft skills among students.

Sagar Dewale and Prasanna Kaskhedikar anchored this short event, where students were asked to build a story through sentences, guess one word from four pics, followed by standup comedy. The winners were given gifts.

The student coordinators of the club are Ruth Paul (Information Technology department 3rd year) and Sujit Joseph (Mechanical Engineering department 3rd year). The audience enjoyed the launch event, with members encouraging them to to be a part of ‘Communique’.

Inauguration of “ TALEN’TELL ” Cultural & Music Club

As a part of the cultural club activity, the Holistic Development Cell hosted a Karaoke music event for the students on 29th July, 2017. This event was organised for the students to showcase their talent.

Over 15 students, from the crowd, came forth and sang with the original sound tracks playing in the background. It was organised in the area between the Academic Block-A and  Block-B.

The event began at around 12 noon.  Arjun Verma took the lead and started the event on a high note. Next came Shriya Bande followed by Shivam Joshi with vibrant performances. Shruti, Ruth and Varun made the crowd groove to their voices. Rishikesh, Kavishwar and Rudolf Ragis were exceptional in their singing. The other participants to entertain were Aman, Tanmayee, Ishwari and Ruhee Dawande.

The event was hosted by Ashwini Bansod and Neha Singh. Shubham Korde and Aishwarya Wanjari, the Student Co-ordinators; Shreyash Manegaokar and Shrivarenya Penna, HDC Student Co-ordinators; Anish Babu and Tanuja Varghese, Cultural Cell Co-ordinators took care of the arrangements.

The event stirred a wave of enthusiasm in the crowd.  It was a success and ended by 01:00pm.
