Department of CE on the 7th April, 2018, organized a Parents-teacher interactive session. The interaction began at 9.30 am, where as many as 50 parents, along with their children belonging to different semesters, turned up.

The parents had to register at the registration desk from where they were escorted to BF- 09 for a short interactive session between teachers and parents.  The meet gave an insight to the parents of their child’s performance along with knowledge about the working of Computer Engineers in the Industry. The parents teachers interaction was thus a huge success in terms of giving the right guidelines to students and their parents.

The event was coordinated by Mrs. P. M. Wankhede & Ms. Komal S. Jaisinghani (Departmental PTI Coordinators) and team. Efforts of the organising team were applauded.


Graduation Ceremony and Alumni Meet 2018

The Institute had organized its second Graduation Ceremony and Alumni meet on 14th April 2018. With over 250 alumni from the 2008-2016 batches registering themselves, it was a indeed a moment to witness as dignitaries and graduates adorned the ceremonial gown and cap.

The ceremony commenced with Fr. Varghese Pullan, Chairman of the Nagpur Pallottine Society welcoming the august gathering, followed by Fr. George Madeikkal, Director, presenting the Institute’s progress report. Chief Guest of the function Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Executive Vice President HCL Technologies, Program Director- HCL New Vistas delivered the keynote address, enriching the graduates through his inspirational speech.

The College’s enthusiastic initiative towards having  a green campus, its first Ongrid 96 KW Solar Power Generation unit was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Guest Mr. Sanjay Gupta in the presence of Mr. Sarang Mahajan, Divisional General Manager, Maharashtra Energy Development Agency and faculty coordinator Mr. K. Borakhade, Mechanical Engineering Department.

Thereafter the postgrads and grads were awarded their degree and took the pledge. Students academic excellence right from Winter 2015 to Winter 2017 university examinations was acknowledged by the institute. Total of 122 awards, cash prizes and certificates were distributed.

The Department appreciation awards were taken by the Computer Engineering and Information Technology Department for achieving 100% result by the eighth semester students at the summer 2017 university examination. The awards were collected by Heads of the Department- Dr. V. Kute  and Mr. M. Bramhe.

Final Year Students too attended the program in large numbers, they got a wonderful  opportunity of interacting with the alumni. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. M. Maurya, Program Coordinator for the event. The ceremony culminated with graduation caps flying high in the air, followed by a DJ party for the alumni and a gala dinner for all.

2018- Regional Alumni Meet at Hyderabad

St. Vincent Pallotti College of Engineering & Technology organized an Alumni Meet for the Hyderabad Region on 17th March, 2018. The objective being to reinforce a sense of belongingness towards their alma mater, fostering the spirit of fellowship and providing a common platform for social and intellectual interaction. 18 alumni (ME-1, CE-4, EE-1, IT-1 and ETC-11) set aside this day to be a part of this meet.

Prof. Binu Joy, Master of Ceremony, gave the welcome address, Fr. George Madeikkal (Director) updated the alumni about recent developments in the college and opportunities for higher studies at foreign universities our college has an MOU with. He further encouraged them to connect with each other & juniors on Wats App groups, share job openings. Fr. George also invited them for the upcoming Graduation Ceremony and Alumni Meet at Nagpur on 14th April, 2018. Later, Dr. Pramod Lanjewar, Head of Department Mechanical Engineering, interacted with these technocrats, encouraging them to share recent trends in the industry and skills required by their juniors to grow as a professional.

Prof. Manish Gudadhe, Computer Engineering Dept., briefed them about different posts and responsibilities of the Alumni Regional Chapter, motivating them to participate proactively in its activities and assuring them of help when needed. The Regional Alumni Chapter and its office bearers were selected through consensus.

Later each of the alumni from different batches introduced themselves, shared excerpts from their life as a student, life thereafter, such as finding the right job, challenges faced and triumphs. Recently married alumna, Mrs. Ankita Umre and her husband Mr. Vinay were felicitated. At the end Mr. Savio Bastian, Alumni Regional Coordinator and cell members expressed their gratitude to the Management for their encouraging presence and initiating this meet for them at Hyderabad and for others at the regional level. This initiatve they unanimously stated has brought them closer to each other in their own cities and deepened  their  bond with their alma mater.

Seminar on Health Care & Precaution

A seminar on ‘Health Care and Precaution’ was organised by our College for all girls students from the 2nd & 3rd year (all branches), on 28th March, 2018 at 3.00 pm. Dr. Ujjwala Deshmukh, Gynaecologist and Obstetrician was invited to facilitate the seminar, highlighting the importance of women’s health care such as- precautions to be taken in daily life, proper diet and hygiene to be maintained in order to prevent diseases.

At the start Dr. Jyoti Rothe, Head of Electrical Engineering Department extended a floral welcome to Dr. Ujjwala Deshmukh and Dr. Charusheela Joshi, Chairperson of ICC. The program was coordinated by Prof. Priti Golar, Mrs. Rajshree Panicker, Prof. Abhinav Muley and Mr. Nandkishor Vaidya.

The team thanks the Management for motivating them to organize the seminar.
Health Care Precaution

‘Shining Star’ of the Electrical Department

Ms. Sonali Kawale (2017 batch) Electrical Engineering Department was honored at the 105th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University with 5 Medals (3 Gold & 2 Silver), making the Department and Institute proud of her achievements. Sonali was an all-rounder student excelling in both academics and sports. Four students of the same batch have bagged the top 6 positions in the merit list.

ISTE Organizes Sesssion on ‘Technical Paper Writing’

The Department of Information Technology had organised a session on ‘Technical Paper Writing’, lead by Dr. S. S. Limaye, in-house faculty of the ETC Dept on 26th March 2018. The session was targeted especially for the third and final year students to guide them with technical paper writing and presentation.

Dr. S. S. Limaye also shared his personal experience on paper publishing and presentation. There was an interactive session at the end where students cleared their doubts with regard to their mini and major projects. A few of them came up with productive ideas and methods regarding presentations which  helped other students as well.

The event was organised under the ISTE (students chapter), supported and guided by faculty co-ordinators Prof. Pooja Walke and Prof. Harshala Shingne.

Students Excel at Paper Presentation Competition

A group of students from fourth year Electrical Engineering presented a paper in the Electrical and Electronics category on ‘Generation of AC from Solar Cells’, at AXIS-2k18, VNIT Nagpur.
This was a national level paper presentation competition. The participating team from our college comprised of NomanHanifa, Rohit Singh, RajkumarMaurya, NilayKalamkar, TruptiTarsekar&RoshaniShende, they bagged the first prize from amongst 87 teams.
The winners are grateful to thier guide Dr. (Mrs) J. P Rothe for her guidance and encouragement.

Project Guidance Session at E&TC

On 16th & 17th March 2018, all final year projects were evaluated by Mr. Sandeep Darvhekar, Director, Beta Computronix Pvt. Ltd. Nagpur & Dr. S. S. Limaye. Based on this evaluation a special project guidance session was organized by the Dept. of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering on the 19th, lead by Mr. Sandeep Darvhekar.

During the session Mr. Darvhekar highlighted the following points:

  • project implementation should be according to real life usage and application based
  • all projects need to be monitored / evaluated weekly
  • have regular brain storming sessions
  • even after students are done with their exams, projects should continue
  • more hard work is needed in the project group

Dr. S. S. Limaye highlighted the following points:

  • create specifications of the components & learn how to design the circuit
  • testing of project components
