An industrial visit to ‘Balaji Industries’

The Mechanical Engineering Department organized an industrial visit to ‘Balaji Industries’, M.I.D.C. Hingana,  Nagpur, for 20 students of the 5th Semester, Section –B, on 25th July 2017.

This industry manufactures PVC pipes in diameter range- 20 mm to 160 mm. Mr. Girija Shankar Pandey, production incharge, explained in detail the  different processes in pipe making such as compounding of materials, hot mixing, extrusion, pipe sizing, and socketing. Students keenly observed the entire process, raising several questions related to the products and industry. The visit concluded handing over a ‘Thankyou’ letter from the College to Mr. Vyankatesh, Proprietor  of the Industry. Prof. V.C. Sontake, organized the visit and accompanied the students.


Office Bearers of ‘SAEINDIA Collegiate Club’

Election for the office bearers of ‘SAEINDIA Collegiate Club’ was held on 24th July 2017.  Student members of the club cast their vote to elect their representatives. These office bearers will hold their post for the academic year 2017-18, conducting various activities under the club. Election was held under the supervision of Prof. M. S. Khan (Faculty Advisor) and Prof. V. C Sontake (Additional Faculty Advisor).

PPT Competition on ‘Recent Innovations in E&TC’

The Electronics and Telecommunication Department organized a power point presentation competition for students under the Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE) on 22nd July 2017. The topic given to the students was ‘Recent innovations in Electronics and Telecommunication’.

Eight groups participated highlighting their creativity, zeal and competitive spirit. They were judged by Dr. A. Werulkar  and Prof. H. Rajurkar.

Surabhi Kewade and Rasika won the 1st prize, while the 2nd prize went to Vaishanavi Wadaskar and Shivani Kuwadkar. Sudha Rao and Rujuta Chandekar were wonderful anchors. The competition was coordinated by ISTE student members Abhijeet Patil, Vedant Pande, Vikram Shekhawat and Prof. K. S.Vaidya (ISTE Dept.coordinator)

Me For My Nation

Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, Nagpur, in collaboration with Yuva Aayam, organized a proactive Orientation Program with an exclusive theme “Me for My Nation” on 15th July 2017, at Pune, Sevasadan Society Hall, Nagpur, initiating awareness and stirring the youth to put in their best contribution towards Nation Building.

Renowned personalities like Dr. Unnat Pandit, Member, NEETI Ayog, GOI and Dr. Lokendra Singh, famous Neurologist from Nagpur, convincingly urged students to offer the best of themselves towards this laudable cause. They also shared their numerous such experiences with participants.

Sumant Amdekar, EE student compared the program and Prof. Prafull Tarwatkar along with other student members witnessed this great initiative. At the end, a month long activity plan was chalked out and would  soon be implemented

Visualizing Transcending Technology

The CE Dept. under the Computer Society of India, organized an expert talk on ‘Cyber Security and Career Making in Technology Space’. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Atul Kahate (Visiting Professor Symbiosis Institute, Pune), having over 18 years of work experience under numerous capacities in the field of Information Technology.

Addressing the gathering Prof. Atul showcased four modern technology trends that would transform the current scenario in the Technology Industry. He further explained the importance of social media being a powerful technology influencing people in making decisions and suggested User Experience as a course which would help in enhancing existing technology developments. Data warehousing, mining and science was a discussion that grabbed the attention of all. IoT was another topic which would bring in a revolutionary transformation if connected to the internet, also briefing students about 3D printers, Big Data and Bitcoin-A.

Finally, Prof. Atul guided students on preparing themselves to be fully functional techies in the IT sector and as basic excel in their Aptitude, Attitude and Personality, valuing human dignity, social responsibility, fulfilling commitments, professional leadership and mutual trust.

The expert talk was interactive and much appreciated by students.

Career in Air Force: Challenges and Opportunities

An Alumnus Interaction, for the 2nd and 3rd year Electrical Engineering students, was held on 22nd July, 2017, Saturday, in Room no- F12 of Electrical Engineering Department. Squadron Leader Niranjan Mude, [2010 Batch EE] Indian Air Force, interacted with students on the topic ‘Career in Air Force: Challenges and Opportunities’.

Mr. Niranjan Mude guided the students about the role of armed forces, work culture and opportunities offered by them. He stressed on the need of team work, discipline and complete dedication to serve our motherland. He also shared his varied experiences,  assuring to help interested students desiring to join the armed forces. Soon after, students enthusiastically posed a number of questions to which Mr. Niranjan patiently answered.

This session broadened the horizon of students with detailed knowledge about the prevailing career opportunities, perks and privileges associated with the armed forces.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Dushyant Khadse, EE Alumni Cell Co-ordinator. Dr.Sushant Satputaley, Alumni Cell In-charge, and Dr. Mrs. J.P. Rothe, Head of Department, (Electrical Engineering) extended their support.
