INVENTOMANIA 3 – Carrying Forward a Legacy!

IMG_2Inventomania 3, an Inter-Collegiate Technical event was organized by the Electrical Engineering Department from Sept. 24th to 26th, 2016. The event was conducted under the aegis of Students’ Chapter, The Institution of Engineers (India).

 

 

Mrs. Alice Paul, Station Manager of Air India, was invited as the Chief Guest for the Inaugural Function. The event carried forward the legacy of innovations and technical skills of the alumni and existing students’. A total of five events were part of Inventomania 3 i.e Mindstorm (Quiz), Contraption (Chain Reaction Event), Techno Hunt, Jugaadu Engineer and T-shirt Painting, out of which two were Inter-Collegiate events. An overwhelming response was received, more than 200 teams and over 550 participants took part.

An expert lecture on ‘VEDIC MATHEMATICS’

IMG_2ManmathDeshpandeMr Manmath Deshpande, owner of Aptitude Development Centre, from Nagpur region was invited to take an expert lecture on ‘VEDIC MATHEMATICS’, for the 3rd & 5th Sem Electrical Engg. students’, on 30th July, 2016. It was organized under the Students’ Chapter, IEI, of SVPCET, Nagpur.

 

Mr. Deshpande, has completed his BE in Computer Science and MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj, Mumbai and is an expert in training students in Mathematics, Reasoning, Communication, etc. He began by giving a brief introduction on Vedic Mathematics along with some examples and also covered basics of multiplication of two and three digit numbers.

 

In the two hour session, he motivated and guided students’ regarding their higher education. He was given a memento as a token of appreciation by IEI Faculty coordinator Prof. Gaurav Gadge. The students’ appreciated the initiative taken by the Dept. in organizing the lecture. The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Huma Sheikh and Prof. Dushyant Khadse coordinated in organizing the session.

 

SVPCET, NAGPUR.

A seminar held on July 28, 2016 on topic “RADAR TECHNOLOGY” for Third semester Electrical Engineering students which was given by Mr Noman Hanifa, student of Fifth semester Electrical Engineering department under Students’ Chapter, IEI, of SVPCET, Nagpur. He has started with a brief introduction, history & Principle of Radar. In one hour discussion, he added applications of Radar like weather radar, military radar etc. There were few videos shown on Doppler effect and its application in Radar.

He briefed on Microwave oven and Electromagnetic spectrum. The purpose of seminar was to acknowledge the student on Radar technology and recent know how about the radar and its applications. The event was coordinated by Mr Gaurav Gadge & Mr Dushyant Khadse, Faculty from Electrical Engineering Department.

Expert Lecture – ‘Fall & Rise’

IMG-20160808-WA0007Mr Manish Nair, a Soft Skill trainer, Jetking, Nagpur was invited to take an expert lecture on ‘Fall and Rise’, for the 3rd & 5th semester Electrical Engineering students, on 06th August, 2016. It was organized under the Students’ Chapter, IEI, of Electrical Department, SVPCET, Nagpur.

Mr.Nair, has completed his BSc (PCM), from SFS College, Nagpur and Masters in Marketing & Advertising from Rajendra Prasad University, Mumbai. He has an experience of almost 21 years in recruitment, on the job, personality development and life skill training. His Motto in life is to make students’wise,both spiritually & intelligetly and emotionally independent.

He began by defining the term fall and rise, thereafter showed a video on courage of a sport person. He also talked about the importance of 4D’s in life, showed quotes of renowned personalities, spoke on the topic fear and finally explained “The law of impermanence of nature”. In the one and half hour session, he motivated and guided students’ to become an independent person.

He was given a memento as a token of appreciation by IEI Faculty coordinator Prof. Gaurav Gadge. The students’appreciated the initiative taken by the Dept. in organizing the lecture.

Expert Seminar – ‘Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship Development’

IMG_2Mr Rohan Tanksale, an Expert Counselor, Independent Consultant & Founder of TMS Consultancy Services, Nagpur was invited to take an Expert Lecture on the  ‘Fundamentals on Entrepreneurship Development’, for the 3rd & 4th year Electrical Engineering students, on 13th August, 2016. It was organized under the Students’ Chapter, IEI, of Electrical Department, SVPCET, Nagpur.

Mr. Rohan, has completed his Diploma in Electronics & Communication and Graduation in Electronics Engineering from Nagpur and BSc in Industrial Science from Nashik and emerged topper of the batch. He also has to his credit a Post Graduation degree in Finance, Psychology, etc, and has trained almost 8000 plus trainees of various age groups.

He began the seminar highlighting his achievements and emphasising the importance of Entrepreneurship. He made his seminar quite and questioned students’ about various aspects of Entrepreneurship, putting real life examples in front of students to make the session more interesting. In the two hour session, he consistently motivated and guided students’ to become an Entrepreneur.

He was given a memento as a token of appreciation by IEI newly elected student coordinator Ms Mona Nimje, 7th Sem Electrical Deptt. The students’ appreciated the initiative taken by the Dept. in organizing the lecture.

BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITY:

 

The Mechanical Engineering students of 5th semester, section A along with the faculty members Prof. Manish Bhadke and Prof. Amar Jadhav made an industrial visit at Dinshaw’s Dairy Food Ltd, MIDC Butibori, Nagpur.

The Butibori plant is a dedicated ice cream making unit of Dinshaws Dairy Food Ltd. The visit was conducted for student students to gain understanding basic process of ice cream making and plant related operations.

Students were able to gain onsite knowledge of various units like pasteurizing unit, blending unit, packing unit. Plant operations were fully automated. Students got an overview of total automation process for ice cream making and packing.

The visit was helpful for the students to understand the industrial working conditions and various sections within the industry.

BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITY:

 

Dr. Mokshgundam Visvesvaraya’s birth Anniversary is celebrated as Engineers Day and it was conducted on the 15th of September, 2015 in SVPCET. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Shekhar Jogwar, Plant Head, PIX Transmission, Nagpur. The program began with scripture reading followed by a prayer song.

The Chief Guest  accompanied by Fr. George Madeikkal (Manager), Fr. Anto Mullanal (Asst.Manager), Fr.Siju Jose (Financial Administrator), Dr. V.V. Sohoni, (Principal), Prof. R. B. Gowardhan (Vice-Principal),  Mr. Namit Hazare (Student Secretary, ISTE) lighted the traditional lamp.

Mr. Shekhar Jogwar, in his inspiring speech, shared his experience and thoughts with the final year students. He urged them to be focused and believe in one self, to use knowledge, engineering and technology to impart a better future for the society.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Snehal Wairagade extending gratitude to the dignitaries, student volunteers and supporting staff who contributed to making the event a success.

BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITY:

 

A group of 42 Mechanical Engineering students of 7th semester, section A accompanied by Prof. Sushant S. Satputaley and Prof. Homeshwar G. Nagpure visited Volkswagen Plant in Pune on 31stAugust, 2015.

Mr. Chaitanya Halbe, Assistant Manager, Communications guided the plant tour for 2 hours. During the plant tour, he introduced the state of art and automated systems and machineries used to manufacture a Volkswagen car. The highlight of the tour was 93 KUKA robots working in different sections of the industry, like spot welding, painting, assembly line etc. The students were thrilled to see and experience the practical applications of the theoretical concepts of manufacturing which they studied in the curriculum.

BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITY:

 

A group of 23 students of 7th semester, section B, were accompanied by Prof. Amar K. Jadhav, to an industrial visit at Visteon Auto India Pvt. Ltd., Sanaswadi, Pune. Visteon auto private limited is a South Korean company, supplying automobile parts to different automobile industries throughout the world like, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ford, Hyundai, Maruti and many more. The company supplies Air conditioning units and radiators to different industries around Pune, Mumbai and Nashik districts of Maharashtra.

The HR Manager Girish Jagtap and the plant head, personally guided the students in increasing their knowledge about Visteon. He explained about the processes and machineries used in the industry for manufacturing automobile air conditioners and radiators. Through this visit the students could see many automated machineries, automated processes, assembly lines etc and gained valuable knowledge.

BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITY:

 

An intra-collegiate poster and oral presentation competition “REJUVENATE 2015 – 16” was organized on 25th August 2015 by the Renewable Energy Club of the College. The theme for the event was “Renewable and Green Manufacturing”.  The birthday of Late Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi the Ministry of Renewable Energy introduced a program called ‘Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas’ celebrated as ‘National Renewable Energy Day’. The REC organized this event to spread awareness about it among budding engineers.

The event was organized under the guidance of REC Faculty Coordinator Dr. Mrs. Suchita Nimbalkar and Faculty convener Prof. Werulkar and Dr. M. Ahemad along with REC student Coordinators Ankit Gongal and Komal Naidu, Kailash Tighare and Shivani Ghodeswar.Fr. Anto Mullanal, Asst. Manager of the College inaugurated the event in the presence of Fr. George Madeikal (Manager), Fr. Manoj Punchakunnel (Former Assistant Manager), Dr. V.V. Sohoni (Principal), HODs of all Departments, REC members and participants.  The program was hosted by Ankit Gongal.

Dr. A.S. Dhundi, Dr. Limaye and Dr. M. Jhachak were the judges for poster competition. Prof. Sonia Francis, Prof. S.S. Satputley and Dr. M. Ahemad, Dr. A. Bhende were the judges for the oral presentation.
